Air stones are an excellent way to increase the oxygen levels in an aquarium or pond. For bigger impact, larger stones can produce more bubbles for a larger body of water. Oxygen levels are very important for fish, especially during the summer when temperatures are higher. The higher the temperature of water, the less oxygen it holds. Air stones are an easy way to influence this and help your fish out. The extra surface agitation will improve the exchange of gasses and in ponds with areas of low flow or still water, an air stone will produce enough surface movement to discourage mosquitoes from laying eggs.
