Easy-Life AlgExit Algae Treatment

Easy-Life AlgExit is a freshwater aquarium algae treatment designed to combat a wide range of troublesome algae, including hair and filamentous algae, beard algae and brush algae.

Rather than simply removing visible algae from the aquarium, AlgExit inhibits further algae growth during the treatment period. Existing algae gradually deteriorates and can then be removed as part of normal aquarium maintenance.

Available in 250ml and 500ml bottles.

Why Does Algae Appear?

A small amount of algae is perfectly normal in an aquarium, but persistent or excessive growth can indicate that conditions are favouring algae faster than plants or routine maintenance can control it.

Common contributing factors include excessive lighting, overfeeding, high nutrient levels, heavy stocking and an imbalance between light, nutrients and plant growth.

Newly established aquariums can also experience temporary outbreaks while the aquarium matures.

AlgExit can help bring an outbreak under control, but identifying the underlying cause will help prevent the algae from simply returning once treatment has finished.

How to Use Easy-Life AlgExit

Add 10ml of AlgExit per 100 litres of aquarium water once a week for four consecutive weeks.

The treatment period can be extended where necessary if algae remains or new growth continues to appear.

During treatment, continue normal aquarium maintenance and remove dead or deteriorating algae where practical.

Always calculate the aquarium volume carefully and follow the directions on the product before use.

Suitable for Planted Aquariums

When used according to the manufacturer’s directions, AlgExit is intended for use in freshwater aquariums containing fish, plants, shrimp and molluscs.

It is not intended for marine aquariums.

Preventing Algae from Returning

An algae treatment tackles the immediate problem, but it is worth investigating why the algae appeared in the first place.

Check your lighting duration and intensity, avoid overfeeding, maintain regular partial water changes and make sure stocking and filtration are appropriate for the aquarium.

In planted aquariums, maintaining a sensible balance between lighting, nutrients and healthy plant growth can make an enormous difference to long-term algae control.
