The  Celestial Eye Fancy Goldfish is a selectively bred variety of fancy goldfish. It is a striking looking fish and one of the most recent introductions into the fancy goldfish community. The Celestial Eye - or Bubble Eye is called so because of the large bubbles that grow under the fish's eyes, causing the eye to point upward. These bubbles are extremely delicate and can be punctured quite easily, so it's important that the aquarium is furnished accordingly. Anything sharp or pointy, such as spider wood and jagged rocks should be avoided as the fish may injure themselves. The base of the tank should either be bare bottom or sand as goldfish spend a lot of time grubbing at the bottom of the tanks and again, some injury to the eyes may occur in the presence oif sharp gravel. Because these fish grow very fast, it is advised that they are housed in the largest possible aquarium from the outset, especially as they are messy fish and larger aquariums stay stable for longer. Efficient filtration is essential and it needs to be able to handle copious amounts of waste. Plants can be added to the aquarium, but will need to be replaced periodically as most goldfish enjoy eating and uprooting plants.

During the warmer months of the year, Fancy Goldfish can be kept outdoors into raised ponds, but appropriate protection must be added to prevent predators from being able to catch them. Orandas are sociable fish and should be kept in groups with their own kind or any other fancy goldfish such as Moors. Comets should be avoided as they are much faster and will outcompete the ranchu for food.

Feed high quality goldfish food and fresh or frozen insect larvae.
