Replacement blue filter foam for the Biotec 60/140

The blue filter sponges for the BioTec ScreenMatic² 60000 and 140000 flow-through filters are easy to use and very easy to clean. They are part of the biological/mechanical filtration in the BioTec filter: coarse dirt particles are retained in the coarse-pored blue bio-bodies. Due to the enrichment with oxygen, Nitrosomonas bacteria quickly form in the blue zone, which convert the ammonia, which is extremely harmful to fish, into nitrite before water continues on to the fine foam. Also suitable for the previous model BioTec ScreenMatic 18/36.

Biotec filter sponges can be cleaned by squeezing detritus and debris out in water taken from the pond. This will ensure that the sponge is not likely to become clogged, reducing the overall efficacy of the filter. This is a genuine Oase replacement part designed for the Biotec filtration units. The manufacturer does not recommend the use of non branded alternatives as they may not be of the same quality.
