Cleair Reefscape Maxi 420 Rimless Glass Marine Aquarium

The Cleair Reefscape Maxi 420 Glass Marine Aquarium is a premium rimless aquarium system designed for aquarists who want plenty of aquascaping space without moving into an enormous installation. With a 345 litre display aquarium and 75 litre sump, it provides approximately 420 litres of total system volume.

At 120cm wide × 60cm deep × 60cm high, the display has excellent front-to-back depth. That makes the Reefscape Maxi 420 particularly well suited to reef structures, planted aquascapes and layouts where you want genuine depth rather than everything arranged against the back glass.

Reefscape Maxi 420 Low-Iron Glass Aquarium

The Reefscape Maxi 420 is constructed from low-iron glass for excellent clarity and reduced green tint. Each panel is machine finished and bevelled, with clear silicone used to maintain the clean appearance of the rimless design.

There is no bulky traditional hood, leaving the aquarium with the simple open appearance that makes the Reefscape range so attractive.

Cover plates and a matching surround are also supplied. These can help reduce evaporation and provide extra security for fish that are prone to jumping.

Reefscape Maxi 420 with 75L Sump

A 75 litre multi-chamber sump sits beneath the main aquarium, providing plenty of room for mechanical and biological filtration as well as additional equipment.

Drain and return pipework are concealed within a colour-matched acrylic weir positioned in the right-hand corner. Keeping the weir away from the centre of the aquarium leaves more uninterrupted space for aquascaping and helps maintain the clean appearance of the display.

Sump cover plates are included to help reduce evaporation, while the generous cabinet height provides useful access for maintenance and space for equipment such as protein skimmers and media reactors. Shirley Aquatics

Reefscape Maxi 420 Pump and Titanium Heater Included

Current Reefscape models include a controllable DC circulation pump, providing the return flow required to operate the sump filtration system.

A titanium heater and separate temperature controller are also included.

That gives you much more of the essential equipment from the outset, while still allowing the sump to be customised around the needs of your particular aquarium.

Reefscape Maxi 420 Factory-Built Cabinet

The cabinet is supplied factory assembled rather than flat-packed. Its structural construction uses solid wood, metal and treated laminated wood rather than relying on MDF, while the exterior panels provide the sleek finish associated with the Reefscape range.

Handle-free doors, soft-close hinges and push catches keep the front uncluttered.

The Maxi 420 is available with a Black or White cabinet, allowing the aquarium to work with both lighter contemporary rooms and darker furniture schemes.

Reefscape Maxi 420 for Marine and Freshwater Aquariums

Despite its marine-focused name, the Reefscape Maxi 420 isn’t limited to reef keeping.

The 120 × 60cm footprint provides an excellent base for a substantial tropical community, planted aquarium or freshwater aquascape as well as marine fish and reef systems.

The 60cm depth is especially useful. Rock and wood can be positioned at different distances from the front glass, creating a much more natural sense of perspective.

For reef aquariums and demanding planted displays, suitable specialist lighting should be chosen according to the livestock or plants being kept. Lighting is sold separately.

Freshwater Reservoir and Auto Top-Up

The Reefscape Maxi 420 also includes a freshwater reservoir and automatic top-up valve.

This is particularly useful for marine aquariums, where replacing evaporated water helps maintain a stable salinity. It is also a convenient addition to freshwater installations, reducing the amount of routine manual topping up required.
