Cleair Reefscape Maxi 310 Rimless Glass Aquarium

The Cleair Reefscape Maxi 310 Rimless Glass Aquarium combines a beautifully clear rimless display aquarium with a proper sump filtration system and a substantial factory-built cabinet. With a 263 litre display tank and 47 litre sump, it provides approximately 310 litres of total system volume while retaining the clean, open appearance that makes rimless aquariums so attractive.

At 90cm wide × 60cm deep × 60cm high, the Maxi 310 has particularly useful front-to-back depth. That extra space opens up far more possibilities for rockwork, reef structures and planted aquascapes than a narrow aquarium of a similar length.

 

Cleair Reefscape Maxi 310 Low-Iron Rimless Glass Aquarium

The Reefscape Maxi 310 is manufactured from low-iron glass, often referred to as Optiwhite glass. Compared with conventional float glass, this reduces the green tint and gives a clearer view of fish, plants, rockwork and corals.

The exposed glass edges are machine finished and bevelled, while clear silicone helps maintain the crisp appearance of the rimless construction.

There is no conventional hood sitting above the aquarium, giving the Reefscape its distinctive open-top appearance.

Reefscape Maxi 310 with 47 Litre Sump

Beneath the aquarium is a 47 litre multi-chamber sump, giving you plenty of flexibility when choosing filtration media and additional equipment. The sump incorporates cover plates to help reduce evaporation while still providing straightforward access for maintenance.

Drain and return pipework are concealed behind an acrylic weir positioned in the right-hand corner of the aquarium rather than centrally. This leaves more of the rear of the tank unobstructed and gives you greater freedom when planning an aquascape.

The current specification also includes a controllable DC circulation pump and titanium heater with controller, providing two of the key pieces of equipment needed to get the filtration system running.

Cleair Reefscape Maxi 310 Factory-Built Cabinet

The cabinet isn’t supplied flat-packed. It arrives factory assembled and uses a combination of solid wood, metal and treated laminated wood for its structural construction rather than MDF.

The exterior is finished with sleek panels and handle-free doors, using soft-close hinges and push catches to keep the appearance clean.

At 83cm high, the cabinet also provides useful working space beneath the aquarium for maintaining the sump and installing additional equipment such as a protein skimmer or media reactor.

Reefscape Maxi 310 for Marine, Reef or Freshwater Aquariums

Although the Reefscape range is an obvious choice for a marine or reef system, the design isn’t restricted to saltwater.

The 60cm front-to-back depth is particularly useful for aquascaping, making the Maxi 310 equally appealing for a substantial tropical or planted aquarium.

For a reef or demanding planted system, suitable specialist lighting will need to be selected separately according to the livestock or plants you intend to keep. Lighting is not included.

Freshwater Reservoir and Auto Top-Up

The Reefscape Maxi 310 also includes a freshwater reservoir and automatic top-up valve. This is especially useful on an open-top marine aquarium, where evaporation can otherwise cause salinity to rise as freshwater is lost from the system.

The Cleair Reefscape Maxi 310 hits a particularly useful size. At 90cm long it doesn’t demand the wall space of a huge aquarium, yet its 60 × 60cm depth and height give the display considerably more presence than its length might suggest.

That 60cm depth is the bit we’d really emphasise. It gives you room to build an aquascape with genuine foreground and background rather than arranging everything along the back glass.
