Stendker GoodHeart Discus Food Spirulina 500g is a complete frozen food developed specifically for discus, combining Stendker’s established beefheart-based GoodHeart recipe with natural Spirulina algae.

Designed for regular feeding, the Spirulina variety provides the substantial nutrition associated with GoodHeart while Stendker specifically includes Spirulina to promote optimal digestion. It is an excellent choice for discus keepers who feed GoodHeart as their main diet and want the additional benefits of the Spirulina formulation.

Supplied as an economical 500g frozen flat pack, this larger format is particularly convenient for established groups of discus and fishkeepers using GoodHeart every day.

Stendker GoodHeart Spirulina

Stendker GoodHeart Spirulina combines a meat-rich frozen recipe with fish ingredients, vegetables, cereals, oils, fats, minerals and Spirulina algae to create a complete food formulated around the nutritional requirements of discus.

GoodHeart has been developed with particular attention to its binding and consistency. Rather than immediately breaking apart when fed, the food remains together while the discus eat, helping reduce fine food particles spreading throughout the aquarium.

With Natural Spirulina Algae

The key difference between this variety and GoodHeart Classic is the inclusion of natural Spirulina algae.

Stendker specifically describes the Spirulina recipe as its GoodHeart variety for optimal digestion, with the algae naturally supporting digestion and consequently the overall health and condition of discus.

For fishkeepers wanting a different emphasis, GoodHeart is also available in Classic and Colour varieties.

Developed for Regular Discus Feeding

GoodHeart isn’t simply a block of frozen beefheart. It is a formulated discus diet developed through Stendker’s many years of breeding and raising discus.

Stendker used GoodHeart as the principal food within its breeding operation and recommends feeding it regularly rather than treating it merely as an occasional frozen supplement.

Its substantial, highly palatable formulation makes it particularly useful for maintaining groups of discus where growth, body condition and consistent feeding are priorities.

Economical 500g Flat Pack

The 500g flat pack offers considerably more food than the smaller 100g blister and is ideal for customers maintaining larger groups of discus.

The frozen slab can be divided into appropriately sized portions as required. Stendker recommends cutting portions from the 500g bar while it is still frozen, then gently defrosting the amount required for feeding in the refrigerator.

For smaller collections or occasional use, the same Spirulina formulation is also available as a convenient 100g portioned blister pack.

Feeding Stendker GoodHeart Spirulina

GoodHeart should be completely defrosted in the refrigerator before feeding. Do not thaw it at room temperature or rinse it under running water, as this can affect its firm consistency and wash nutrients from the food.

For a group of 10 adult discus measuring approximately 12–18cm, Stendker recommends around 5–7.5g per meal, offered three times per day. Smaller discus require correspondingly smaller portions.

Feed an appropriate quantity for the number and size of fish being maintained and avoid unnecessary overfeeding.
