Stendker GoodHeart Discus Food Spirulina 100g is a beefheart-based complete frozen food developed specifically for discus, combining Stendker’s established GoodHeart recipe with the addition of Spirulina algae.

GoodHeart has been developed through decades of discus breeding at Stendker and is formulated to provide the nutrition required for healthy growth and condition. The Spirulina version builds on the classic recipe with natural Spirulina algae, which Stendker specifically includes to support optimal digestion.

Supplied in a convenient 100g blister pack, it is easy to portion and particularly useful for smaller groups of discus or fishkeepers who want to alternate between the different GoodHeart varieties.

Stendker GoodHeart Spirulina

Stendker GoodHeart Spirulina combines a highly nutritious beefheart-based recipe with Spirulina algae to produce a complete food designed around the requirements of discus.

The underlying GoodHeart formulation contains a high proportion of meat and animal ingredients alongside fish, vegetables, cereals, oils, fats and minerals. Stendker has developed the food to remain firmly bound during feeding, helping the fish consume the food rather than allowing it to rapidly disperse throughout the aquarium.

With Natural Spirulina Algae

Spirulina is a nutrient-rich microscopic algae widely used in quality aquarium foods. In this GoodHeart formulation, Stendker specifically uses Spirulina to promote digestion and support the overall condition of discus.

This makes it a useful alternative to GoodHeart Classic, while the separate GoodHeart Colour recipe is designed for fishkeepers wanting additional colour-enhancing ingredients.

All three varieties are produced in both convenient 100g blister packs and economical 500g flat packs.

Developed for Stendker Discus

GoodHeart was developed as a complete food for the discus produced at the Stendker hatchery rather than simply as a supplementary frozen treat.

The combination of animal proteins, vegetable ingredients, fats, minerals and other nutrients provides a substantial diet suitable for the warm temperatures and regular feeding regime associated with growing and maintaining discus.

Its firm consistency is another important feature. Keeping the food together while the discus feed means less fine material is dispersed around the aquarium, helping reduce unnecessary food waste.

Convenient 100g Blister Pack

The 100g frozen blister pack provides individual portions which can easily be removed as required.

This makes the smaller pack particularly convenient for modest groups of discus, occasional feeding or customers wanting to try the Spirulina recipe before moving to the larger 500g format.

Feeding Stendker GoodHeart Spirulina

Stendker recommends completely defrosting the required GoodHeart portion in the refrigerator before feeding. Avoid thawing it at room temperature or under running water.

For a group of around 10 discus, Stendker recommends approximately 5–7.5g per meal, with GoodHeart offered up to three times daily.

Only offer an appropriate quantity for the fish being maintained and remove significant uneaten food where necessary.
