Description

Brine Shrimp with Spirulina 100g – Salt Lake City

Brine Shrimp with Spirulina is a nutritious frozen fish food suitable for a wide variety of tropical, coldwater and marine fish. Combining small, easily eaten brine shrimp with spirulina provides an excellent way to introduce greater variety to your fish’s diet.

Produced by Salt Lake City, a BCUK brand, the food comes in a convenient 100g blister pack, allowing smaller portions to be removed while the remainder stays frozen until required.

Brine Shrimp with Spirulina Frozen Fish Food

Brine shrimp are one of the most popular natural food sources for aquarium fish. Their small size makes them particularly useful for community aquariums and species that may struggle with larger frozen foods such as krill or pieces of mussel.

The addition of spirulina provides a plant-based nutritional component, making this variety a useful alternative to standard frozen brine shrimp.

Why Add Spirulina?

Spirulina is widely used as an ingredient in aquarium foods and provides a natural source of nutrients and pigments. Including it alongside brine shrimp creates a useful mixed food for omnivorous species and helps introduce additional variety into the diet.

This product is a ready-to-feed frozen fish food. The spirulina is included with the brine shrimp; it is not spirulina powder intended for feeding or culturing live Artemia.

Which Fish Is It Suitable For?

The relatively small food size makes it suitable for many tropical community species, including tetras, rasboras, barbs, livebearers and smaller cichlids, as well as appropriate coldwater and marine fish.

It can be particularly useful for adding variety to a diet based primarily on flakes, granules or pellets and can be rotated with other frozen foods such as bloodworm, mysis and Cyclops.

Gamma Irradiated Frozen Food

Salt Lake City frozen food is Gamma irradiated as part of the production process. Irradiation helps reduce potentially harmful microorganisms, providing additional reassurance when offering natural frozen foods to aquarium fish.

How to Feed

Remove an appropriate portion from the blister pack and feed according to the size and number of fish in your aquarium. It can be thawed before feeding if preferred.

Feed only as much as your fish will consume promptly and avoid allowing uneaten food to accumulate. For a varied diet, alternate with suitable complete dry foods and other frozen varieties.
