The Lambchop Rasbora is a peaceful shoaling species from South East Asia. Truly an underrated fish, they are remarkably beautiful in the right setting. Somewhat similar in appearance to Harlequin Rasboras and Glowlight Rasboras, these fish prefer the quieter life and will grow to a much smaller size.

They are best maintained in an aquarium with soft, acidic water with other species of similar temperament. They should be kept in a shoal of 10 or more individuals, but a larger number will really bring out the best in these fish. The aquarium should be heavily planted with plenty of hiding spots and a wide open swimming space in the centre. To achieve the soft acidic conditions that these fish thrive in, bog wood can be added. along with peat moss. Additional floating plants will diffuse the light a little to make the Harlequins feel more safe. Flow should be very gentle and lighting should be diffused with flowting vegetation.

Tank mates can be anything that is small and peaceful that's able to tolerate the acidic conditions required by the Rasbora. We recommend South American fish such as Corydoras, Tetras, Plecos and dwarf cichlids like Apistogrammas. Larger, more imposing species should be avoided as these Rasboras are very shy and easily spooked.

Food can be offered in the form of micro pellets as well as fresh or frozen fish foods such as copepods, daphnia and brine shrimp.
