The Fluval Siena 272L Aquarium combines contemporary furniture styling with some of Fluval’s best aquarium technology. With a generous 272 litre capacity, deep 55cm footprint and matching cabinet, the Siena creates an impressive display while keeping equipment and cables remarkably well hidden.
Unlike many complete aquarium sets, the Siena doesn’t compromise on the equipment underneath. It includes a Fluval 07 Series external filter, Fluval M Series heater and two Plant 4.0 LED lights, while Fluval’s clever Easy-Connect system routes the filtration directly through the base of the aquarium.
The result is a beautifully clean aquarium with very little equipment distracting from the aquascape.
Fluval Siena 272L Aquarium with Easy-Connect Filtration
One of the standout features of the Fluval Siena 272L Aquarium is Fluval’s patented Easy-Connect through-tank filtration system.
Rather than running external-filter hoses over the back of the aquarium, the filter connects through the base of the tank. The pipework is hidden inside the cabinet, giving the aquarium a much cleaner appearance.
It also means the Siena can sit flush against the wall, without needing additional space behind it for bulky filter hoses.
Fluval 07 Series External Filter Included
The Siena comes complete with a Fluval 07 Series external canister filter, providing powerful multi-stage filtration without taking up space inside the aquarium.
Mechanical, biological and chemical filter media can be accommodated within the filter, giving you considerably greater filtration capacity than a typical internal system.
Combined with the Easy-Connect installation, almost the entire filtration system disappears neatly into the cabinet.
Twin Fluval Plant 4.0 LED Lighting
Lighting is another area where the Siena stands apart from many complete aquarium sets.
The aquarium includes two high-output Fluval Plant 4.0 LED lights, providing excellent illumination across the 90 × 55cm aquarium footprint.
Using the FluvalConnect app, you can customise the lighting spectrum and programme the aquarium’s daily lighting schedule from a compatible mobile device.
The Plant 4.0 technology also makes the Siena particularly attractive for planted freshwater aquariums, giving you considerably more lighting flexibility than a conventional fixed LED system.
Integrated Fluval M Series Heater
A Fluval M Series heater is supplied as standard.
Its slim reflective borosilicate glass construction helps it blend into the aquarium rather than becoming a prominent piece of equipment.
Combined with the hidden external filtration connections, this helps preserve the clean, uncluttered appearance that is such a big part of the Siena’s design.
Premium Glass Aquarium Construction
The Fluval Siena isn’t just about the equipment.
The front and rear panels use 10mm polished glass, with 8mm glass used for the sides and base. Black silicone and upper strengthening bars provide additional structural support while maintaining the aquarium’s contemporary appearance.
High-quality 3M decorative edging runs around the top and bottom, while an elevated recessed base gives the aquarium a subtle floating effect.
Two lightweight aluminium-core canopy panels slide independently and can be completely removed when greater access is required.
Removable ventilation openings can also accommodate an automatic feeder if required.
55cm Deep for Aquascaping
At 90cm wide × 55cm deep × 55cm high, the Siena 272 has particularly attractive proportions for aquascaping.
That 55cm front-to-back depth gives you considerably more room to create foreground, midground and background planting than shallower aquariums of a similar width.
It also provides plenty of swimming space for suitable community fish while allowing rocks, wood and plants to be arranged without making the aquarium feel crowded.
Furniture-Style Siena Cabinet
The matching cabinet has received just as much attention as the aquarium.
Soft-close hinges prevent the doors from slamming, while adjustable feet can be operated from inside the cabinet, allowing the aquarium to be levelled without visible adjusters spoiling the exterior.
Inside you’ll find thoughtful storage features including a door-mounted wire basket, additional work shelf and stainless-steel storage hook.
A raised power bar keeps electrical connections organised and away from the cabinet floor, while the interior finish matches the exterior for a much more polished appearance.
Even the strip between the cabinet doors coordinates with the decorative edging on the aquarium.

Each version combines matching cabinet finishes with coordinated decorative aquarium trim, creating a complete furniture-style aquarium rather than simply a tank sitting on a stand.

Why We Recommend the Fluval Siena 272L Aquarium
The Fluval Siena 272L Aquarium feels like Fluval has taken many of the little annoyances associated with conventional aquarium sets and designed them out.
External-filter hoses disappear through the base. Cables have somewhere sensible to go. The cabinet can be levelled internally. The doors soft-close. There is proper storage inside, and even the electrical connections are lifted away from the cabinet floor.
More importantly, the included equipment isn’t an afterthought. You’re getting established Fluval external filtration, an M Series heater and twin app-controlled Plant 4.0 lighting as part of the package.
And we particularly like the 90 × 55cm footprint. Rather than simply making the aquarium longer, Fluval has given the Siena plenty of front-to-back depth, creating much more scope for a convincing aquascape.
It’s a genuinely premium complete aquarium system rather than a basic starter aquarium dressed up with a smart cabinet.
