Guppies are arguably the most popular and best known tropical fish of all. They make an excellent beginners fish and also appeal to more experienced aquarists who like to collect the more special varieties. This is one of the standard varieties of guppies, but of a pure bred strain.
Guppies are well known livebearers within and even outside of the hobby. They are easy to keep as long as their conditions are kept within the right range. They like a reasonably sized aquarium with hard alkaline water and gentle flow. The water's KH can be maintained by using ocean rock, which will in turn keep the pH high as well. Live plants are always appreciated by the females trying to get a break from the male's amorous pursuits and also by the fry who will use it as a place to hide until they're a little bigger. Guppies are obsessed with breeding, so it's important to know that if males and females are mixed, there's likely to be a regular supply of fry.
Avoid keeping your Coral Red Guppy with any species that are known for nipping as their large fins and tails can prove to be a little too tempting.
Food can be offered in the form of nano pellets and fresh or frozen fish foods such as daphnia and bloodworms..
