biOrb Easy Plant Autumn Fern
The biOrb autumn fern set of 2 contains two imitation autumn ferns. They are equipped with a ceramic weight so that they sink easily into the water and remain in their intended position at the bottom of the aquarium. The decorative item catches the eye and is easy to insert and replace. The biOrb autumn fern set of 2 is suitable for use in all biOrb aquariums with a volume of 30 litres or more. The set should be rinsed with clear water before insertion.
Aquarium plants are important to the aquarium, not just on a visual level, but also for the fish. Many fish will utilise them as a spawning location, but they also provide hiding places and safety to new fry as well as adult fish. They also help create visual barriers between fish, territory and generally mimic a natural environment for fish to enjoy. Fish that are stressed, unsettled and nervous are far more likely to become sick, so by simply providing them with these things will lead to healthier fish. Aquarium plants produce valuable oxygen and absorb nitrates and phosphates in the water column, adding another level to the filtration.
But aquarium plants aren't always a possibility, especially in all cichlid tanks where the fish enjoy eating or damaging them. Live plants can make fish keeping more complicated as they need their own care and can look unpleasant if not looked after properly.
Artificial plants however do not require a great deal of care. They're easy to clean with plastic plant cleaner and can be moved from one place to another with ease. Whilst offering no benefit to the ecology of the aquarium, they provide all the same benefits to the fish.
