biOrb CUBE MCR LED Aquarium Kit

The biOrb CUBE MCR LED Aquarium Kit combines biOrb’s distinctive styling and integrated filtration with a practical cube-shaped aquarium that’s particularly well suited to creative aquascaping. Available in 30-litre and 60-litre sizes, the CUBE provides considerably more usable decorating space than the rounded biOrb designs while retaining the clean, contemporary appearance the brand is known for.

Made from clear acrylic, each aquarium is supplied as a complete system with remote-controlled MCR lighting, filtration, air pump, ceramic biological media and the essential components required to get the aquarium started.

The clean square proportions of the biOrb CUBE MCR LED Aquarium Kit provide plenty of room for arranging plants, rocks, wood and ornaments without the visual distortion associated with a spherical aquarium.

The seamless acrylic construction and gently rounded vertical edges provide excellent visibility, while the filtration system is concealed beneath the ceramic media rather than occupying valuable space inside the aquarium.

MCR Multi-Colour LED Lighting

The CUBE is fitted with biOrb’s MCR multi-colour LED lighting system, controlled using the supplied remote.

Choose from 16 preset colours, fade through the colour spectrum or adjust the brightness to suit the aquarium and surrounding room.

The lighting also includes automatic 8, 10, 12 and 14-hour day/night programmes, allowing it to progress through a daily lighting cycle automatically rather than relying on a separate plug-in timer.

Integrated biOrb Filtration

One of the cleverest features of the CUBE is that you don’t have a conventional internal filter hanging on the back or side of the aquarium.

Instead, water is drawn downwards through the ceramic media covering the aquarium base. The highly porous ceramic provides a large surface area for beneficial bacteria, creating an important part of the aquarium’s biological filtration.

Waste is drawn towards the filter cartridge at the bottom of the aquarium, where mechanical media traps physical debris while chemical filtration helps remove dissolved pollutants.

Continuous Circulation & Aeration

The supplied low-voltage air pump powers the filtration system and creates the characteristic central stream of bubbles found in biOrb aquariums.

As the bubbles rise through the aquarium they create continuous water movement, drawing water through the filtration system while simultaneously helping to oxygenate it.

This simple arrangement keeps most of the filtration equipment out of sight and leaves more of the aquarium available for the actual display.

Clear Acrylic Construction

The CUBE is manufactured from clear acrylic rather than conventional glass.

Acrylic allows the aquarium to have smooth, visually unobtrusive edges while remaining relatively lightweight for its size. It also provides excellent clarity, making the CUBE particularly effective when viewed from more than one side.

Acrylic is softer than glass, however, so only suitable acrylic-safe cleaning equipment should be used to help prevent scratching.

Designed for Aquascaping

The CUBE format is particularly useful if you enjoy creating a more substantial aquarium layout.

Unlike the rounded CLASSIC, HALO and LOOP designs, its square footprint gives you defined front-to-back depth and plenty of usable substrate area. Rocks, plants and ornaments can be positioned in layers to create a stronger sense of perspective.

The larger CUBE 60 is particularly versatile, with its 40 × 40cm footprint providing significantly more room for both decoration and suitable livestock.

CUBE 30 MCR

The compact CUBE 30 holds 30 litres and measures 32 × 32 × 34.5cm.

Its relatively small footprint makes it suitable for compact displays while still providing enough depth to create an interesting aquascape.

CUBE 60 MCR

The larger CUBE 60 doubles the capacity to 60 litres and measures 40 × 40 × 43.3cm.

The increased water volume and 40cm square footprint provide substantially greater flexibility when selecting suitable livestock and creating more ambitious layouts.
