The Banggai Cardinal, Pteroapogon kauderni is a black and silver coloured fish with white spots, an authentic jewel to have in the aquarium. It is an ideal fish for beginners and reef safe. They must be fed several times a day with a diet based on frozen food, brineshrimp and mysis and also dry food such as Gamma Marine Complete Pellets. Maximim Size 7.5cm.

These fish are an excellent choice for Reef aquaria as they remain relatively small, don't harm corals and larger invertebrates and do very well as a shoal. They should indeed be kept in larger numbers (8+) in aquariums large enough, but in smaller aquaria that may not be able to support such numbers, it is better to keep just a male and a female. Smaller groups tend to squabble too much and often there is a single weak fish that bears the brunt of it.
