Betta Choice Sahara Sand is a high-quality, natural, decorative sand suitable for tropical, marine and coldwater aquariums, along with terrariums, vivariums, ponds, and water features. This sand is inert and will not raise the pH in the water. With clean natural tones, it mimics mother nature beautifully in an aquarium.
Sand is a great choice of substrate and has many benefits over gravel. Sand does not trap detritus as easily as gravel, but instead, it will settle on top where it can be seen and easily syphoned out. Sand is also suitable for all livestock, including catfish with delicate barbels and loaches.
Its bright, natural tones add vibrancy to your aquarium, creating a clean and visually striking underwater landscape. Before use, it is recommended to rinse the quartz thoroughly to remove any dust particles, ensuring a safe and healthy habitat for your aquatic life.
This sand is perfectly fish safe and will not affect your pH or KH
When adding new gravel or sand to an aquarium, it is advisable to rinse it thoroughly first to remove the dust from it. This will help prevent cloudiness and a change in the aquarium's pH as the dust can cause this, but the gravel itself does not. If clouding does occur, filter floss can be added to the filtration to help clear it faster.
