Description

Fluval Roma 240L Aquarium & Cabinet Kit

The Fluval Roma 240L Aquarium & Cabinet Kit is the largest aquarium in the Roma range, combining a spacious 240 litre display with Bluetooth-controlled LED lighting, powerful external filtration, heating and a matching cabinet.

Measuring 120 × 40 × 50cm, the Roma 240 provides a generous four-foot swimming length without becoming excessively deep from front to back. It makes an excellent choice for a substantial tropical community, planted display or anyone upgrading from a smaller aquarium.

Fluval Roma 240L Aquarium with Bluetooth Lighting

The Fluval Roma 240L includes a 24W Bluetooth LED lighting system, providing bright, natural-looking illumination across the full length of the aquarium.

With approximately 1950 lumens of output and a 7000K colour temperature, the lighting helps enhance fish colours while providing useful illumination for straightforward aquarium plants.

Control is handled through the FluvalConnect app, allowing you to adjust colour, intensity and lighting schedules from a compatible smartphone or tablet.

A gradual 24-hour lighting cycle and a choice of effects can also be programmed, while space is provided for an optional second compatible LED if you want to upgrade the lighting later.

Fluval Roma 240L with 307 External Filter

Unlike the smaller Roma models that use internal filtration, the Fluval Roma 240L Aquarium is supplied with a Fluval 307 external canister filter.

Keeping the main filtration inside the cabinet leaves more usable space within the aquarium and removes a bulky internal filter from the display.

The 307 provides multi-stage mechanical, biological and chemical filtration, with separate media baskets allowing the filter media to be customised when required.

A clever through-base filter connection also allows the pipework to pass discreetly through the aquarium base rather than hanging over the rear of the tank.

Fluval Roma 240L Aquarium with 300W Heater

A 300W Fluval M Series heater is included to provide reliable temperature control for a tropical freshwater aquarium.

The M Series uses a reflective borosilicate glass tube designed to blend more discreetly into its surroundings.

An LCD thermometer is also supplied, allowing the aquarium temperature to be checked easily at a glance.

Spacious Four-Foot Tropical Aquarium

The Fluval Roma 240L measures 120 × 40 × 50cm, providing considerably more horizontal swimming room than the smaller models in the Roma range.

That four-foot length makes it particularly appealing for active community species that benefit from additional swimming space.

The 40cm front-to-back depth also gives you room to create a layered aquascape with plants, wood and stone while keeping the aquarium relatively slim against the wall.

At 240 litres, there’s enough capacity to create an impressive display without moving into the size and weight of some of the much larger aquarium systems.

Fluval Roma 240L Matching Cabinet

The matching Roma cabinet is included as part of this package and measures 120 × 40 × 71.5cm.

Its clean furniture-style design follows the footprint of the aquarium, creating a neat complete setup while providing useful storage underneath.

There’s room inside for the Fluval 307 external filter as well as food, water treatments and maintenance equipment.

An internal shelf provides additional storage, while soft-close doors help minimise vibration around the aquarium.

Fluval Roma 240L for Community Aquariums

The Fluval Roma 240L Aquarium & Cabinet Kit is particularly well suited to a substantial tropical community.

Its 120cm swimming length gives you considerably more freedom when choosing livestock than a smaller starter aquarium, while the 240 litre capacity provides a useful volume of water for maintaining stable conditions.

It can equally be turned into a planted display, with the long footprint providing plenty of scope for wood, rockwork and different planting zones.

For more demanding planted aquascapes, the standard lighting can be upgraded or supplemented to suit the plants being kept.

Why We Like the Fluval Roma 240L Aquarium

The Fluval Roma 240L Aquarium is a particularly good option if you want the swimming length of a four-foot aquarium without an enormous footprint.

At 120cm long but only 40cm front-to-back, it sits relatively neatly against a wall while still providing a substantial 240 litre display.

We also like the move to external filtration on this model. The Fluval 307 keeps bulky filtration equipment out of the aquarium, while the through-base connections make the finished installation considerably tidier.

Add the matching cabinet, Bluetooth lighting and 300W heater and you have a very complete system that’s equally suitable for an ambitious first aquarium or an upgrade from a smaller setup.
