Stendker GoodHeart Discus Food Colour is a complete frozen food developed specifically for discus, combining Stendker’s established beefheart-based GoodHeart formulation with an additional colour-enhancing ingredient.

Designed for regular feeding, GoodHeart provides a nutritious, highly palatable diet to support healthy growth and condition. The Colour variety has been specially formulated for fishkeepers wanting to encourage the natural colour intensity of their discus while providing the complete nutrition associated with the Stendker GoodHeart range.

Available as a convenient 100g blister pack or economical 500g frozen flat pack, it is suitable for everything from smaller collections to established groups of discus.

Stendker GoodHeart Colour

Stendker GoodHeart Colour is the colour-enhancing variety within the GoodHeart range. Stendker describes it as the formulation for optimal colourfulness, using an additional colouring ingredient to help produce outstanding colour intensity in discus.

Importantly, it remains a complete discus food rather than simply being a supplementary colour food.

Developed Specifically for Discus

The GoodHeart range was developed around the nutritional requirements of discus and has been used extensively within Stendker’s own breeding programme.

Its substantial meat-based formulation provides valuable protein for growth and condition, together with vegetable ingredients, vitamins, minerals and other nutrients.

The food is also deliberately well bound. This helps it remain together while the discus feed rather than rapidly disintegrating into fine particles throughout the aquarium.

Supporting Natural Colour

Discus are prized for their extraordinary range of reds, blues, oranges and other colours, and diet plays an important role in maintaining fish in excellent condition.

GoodHeart Colour provides the nutritional foundation of the regular GoodHeart diet while incorporating an additional colour-enhancing component. This makes it particularly useful for keepers wanting to bring out the natural intensity of their discus without replacing their normal complete food.

Stendker currently produces three specialist GoodHeart varieties: Classic, Colour and Spirulina Algae. Colour is formulated for colour intensity, while Spirulina is specifically intended to support digestion.

Choose 100g or 500g

The 100g blister pack provides convenient individual portions and is ideal for smaller groups of fish or customers trying GoodHeart Colour for the first time.

For established discus collections and regular feeding, the 500g frozen flat pack provides a more economical option. Stendker confirms that GoodHeart Colour is produced in both formats.

Feeding Stendker GoodHeart Colour

Completely defrost the required amount in the refrigerator before feeding. Stendker advises against thawing GoodHeart at room temperature or under running water, as this can affect its firm consistency or wash valuable minerals from the food.

For a group of 10 discus, Stendker recommends approximately 5–7.5g per meal, offered three times per day. Adjust the amount according to the size and number of fish and only provide what can be consumed promptly.
