With its leaves floating across the ponds surface, this beautiful native plant produces delicate yellow flowers during the summer months. It is best not to plant it near your filtration or by fountains and waterfalls as the leaves don't appreciate strong current or being splashed on. When planted in a good position, this plant can be quite vigorous growing and create an attractive patch of greenery that will really please the eye. The surface cover will also produce valuable shade in the warmer months, helping to control algae blooms as well as the temperatures within the pond. Your fish and other aquatic wildlife will appreciate the option of cover as well. This plant makes a great landing pad for dragonflies.
