Mirror Carp are a very large native fish that should only be housed in a large pond or lake. They are a fast growing fish, with an appetite to match, so good quality filtration is essential. The pond should be at least 4ft deep and as long and wide as possible to give the fish plenty of exercise and keep them healthy. Plants are not recommended unless they are in an area that the fish can't reach as Mirrors, like all carp like to grub at the bottom of the pond and will most likely uproot any plant they encounter. They will adapt to a wide range of conditions and aren't prone to having health issues. Feed good quality pond fish food or koi food, as well as treats like oranges, lettuce and dried pond fish treats.
