Iris versicolor also known as the american water iris or blue flag iris is a perennial moisture loving plant with narrow erect foliage perfect for emerging dragonflies and strong clumps provide cover for wildlife. Stunning flowers produced in the summer are purple-blue with yellow and white throat. This is a fantastic marginal plant that's also suitable for bog filters as it will contribute to controlling nutrients in the water column and by extension the algae growth. Its towering height can create a natural barrier at the pond edge for better aesthetics and mimic a natural body of water.

Please be mindful that this plant is potentially harmful if eaten. Ensure that pets and children are supervised when near this plant.
