Fish live in their own toilet; the waste they excrete remains in the aquarium and causes fish disease and can be lethal. An established filter contains bacteria, which breakdown the fish waste. Fish health problems occur in new aquariums because filter bacteria take several weeks to become established. FILTER START contains cultures of selected bacteria to rapidly start up essential waste breakdown cycles. For use in coldwater & tropical freshwater aquariums.
