Hozelock EcoPower+ 10000 Pond Filter

The Hozelock EcoPower+ 10000 Pond Filter combines mechanical and biological filtration with a built-in 16W UVC. Designed for larger garden ponds, it helps remove solid waste, process fish waste and control the free-floating algae responsible for green water.

It can handle ponds up to 20,000 litres without fish or 10,000 litres with fish, making it a practical complete filter for many established garden ponds.

Water entering the filter first passes through the integrated UVC. A turbulator improves exposure to the UV light, helping clump microscopic green-water algae together so they can be captured more easily by the filter.

The water then passes through the biological media, which provides a large surface area for beneficial bacteria. These bacteria help break down fish waste and maintain healthier pond water.

Foam media provides the mechanical stage, trapping suspended dirt and debris before the filtered water returns to the pond.

Built-In 16W UVC

With the 16 watt UVC already incorporated into the filter, there’s no need to install a separate UV clarifier.

This makes the EcoPower+ particularly convenient if you want an effective pond filtration system without lots of separate equipment and additional pipework.

A built-in venturi also adds oxygen as the water moves through the filtration process, helping support the beneficial bacteria within the biological media.

Easy Pond Maintenance

Waste gradually collects at the bottom of any pond filter. The EcoPower+ includes a sludge drain, allowing this accumulated dirt to be flushed away during routine maintenance.

Its high-level outlet also means the filter can be partially buried, making it easier to disguise beside the pond while keeping the important parts accessible.

Choosing the Correct Pond Filter

The EcoPower+ 10000 is rated for:

• Up to 20,000 litres without fish
• Up to 10,000 litres with fish
• Maximum recommended flow of approximately 4,500–5,000 LPH
• 16W UVC
• 25–40mm inlet hose compatibility

Remember that pond volume isn’t the only consideration when choosing a filter. Fish stocking, feeding, sunlight and other conditions can increase the demands placed on the filtration system. When in doubt, choosing a larger filter usually provides more capacity for changing conditions.
