The Gold White Cloud Mountain  Minnow is a small, peaceful shoaling fish from China, Hong Kong and Vietnam. It is one of the few temperate fish available in the hobby and one of the smallest. Ideally suited for the smallest beginner aquariums, this minnow is very undemanding. It is able to adapt to a wide range of conditions and doesn't have any tendencies towards aggression whilst being surprisingly pretty to look at when in full colour.

They are actually the best fish for beginner aquariums as there is no chance of them outgrowing their aquarium like goldfish often do and don't need a large amount of swimming space like danios. They can be very forgiving when it comes to fluctuating parameters and will adapt to most conditions. Males will often display to one another by positioning them next to each other and spreading their fins.

Ideal tank mates include other peaceful shoaling fish like Rosy Barbs and Variatus Platies, which are also happy at lower temperatures. In larger aquariums you could consider danios, rainbow shiners and gold barbs.

Food can be offered in the form of nano pellets, flakes and fresh or frozen fish foods like daphnia and brine shrimp.
