Frozen Whole Fish 100g is a natural frozen food for larger carnivorous freshwater and marine fish. The small whole fish are graded for size and individually quick frozen, making them easy to separate and portion while retaining their natural shape and texture. BCUK specifically recommends them for piranhas and other predatory species.

Whole prey provides a very different feeding experience from prepared foods or frozen cubes. These small fish can be offered whole to suitably sized predators, making them a useful addition to the feeding routine of species that naturally consume fish and other substantial prey.

The convenient 100g resealable pack is particularly useful for fishkeepers who want whole-fish nutrition without needing to buy one of the much larger bags of whitebait we’ve just tackled.

Ideal for Predatory Fish

BCUK describes Small Whole Fish as ideal for piranhas and other carnivorous fish, with suitability across freshwater and marine aquariums. The manufacturer also categorises the food for tropical, marine, coldwater and cichlid use.

Whole fish can be offered to suitably sized predators or cut into smaller pieces where necessary.

Individually Quick Frozen

Rather than being frozen together into a solid slab, the individual fish are quick frozen separately. This allows you to remove only the amount of fish food required for each meal while leaving the remainder of the pack frozen.

Gamma Irradiated

BCUK Frozen Whole Fish is gamma irradiated as part of the manufacturer’s frozen-food production process. BCUK states that its frozen aquarium foods are fresh frozen at source before undergoing gamma irradiation.

Feeding

Remove the required number of fish from the pack and allow them to thaw before feeding. Offer whole to appropriately sized predators or cut into smaller pieces where necessary.

Feed an amount appropriate to the size and number of fish and remove significant uneaten food before it begins to affect water quality.

Keep frozen until required and do not refreeze once fully defrosted.
