Frozen Ocean Plankton 1kg is a natural frozen food developed for marine aquarium fish, providing a convenient way to add plankton-based nutrition and variety to the diet. The generous 1kg frozen plate is particularly useful for larger marine aquariums, multiple tanks or fishkeepers who feed frozen foods regularly.

Ocean plankton naturally contains oils, carotenoids and other nutrients and is readily accepted by a wide variety of marine fish. BCUK specifically recommends its Ocean Plankton for marine aquariums and supplies it in both 100g blister packs and larger 1kg plates.

The 1kg format provides the same BCUK Ocean Plankton in a larger frozen plate, allowing portions to be broken off as required. This makes it a more economical choice where smaller blister packs are used quickly.

Ideal for Marine Fish

Ocean plankton provides a natural feeding option for a broad range of marine species. Its relatively small particle size makes it useful for fish that prefer smaller foods, while larger fish can also benefit from it as part of a varied frozen diet.

It can be alternated with foods such as mysis, brine shrimp and krill to provide different food sizes, textures and nutritional profiles.

Ocean plankton naturally contains oils and carotenoids, making it a useful addition to a varied marine feeding programme. BCUK lists a typical nutritional analysis of 11% protein, 3% fat, 1% ash and approximately 90% moisture.

Rather than relying on a single frozen food, rotating several suitable foods can help provide marine fish with a broader and more varied diet.

Gamma Irradiated

BCUK’s frozen aquarium foods are fresh frozen at source before undergoing gamma irradiation as part of the production process.

Feeding

Break off an appropriate portion from the frozen plate and allow it to thaw before feeding. Offer only as much as the fish will consume within a few minutes and remove significant uneaten food.

Keep the remaining food frozen and do not refreeze food once it has fully defrosted.
