Description
Frozen Mussels 340g Fish Food
Frozen Mussels 500g are a natural, substantial fish food for larger carnivorous species and other aquatic predators. The whole mussel meat provides a larger mouthful than typical frozen fish food cubes, making it particularly useful for species that naturally consume shellfish and other meaty foods.
Suitable for both freshwater and marine fish, the mussels can be offered whole to larger predators or chopped into smaller pieces for juvenile fish and species with smaller mouths.
Frozen Mussels 340g
Whole frozen mussels are an excellent way to add variety to the feeding routine of predatory fish. Their soft, meaty texture is readily accepted by many larger species and provides a useful alternative to foods such as whitebait, krill, prawns and cockles.
The larger 340g pack is particularly convenient for fishkeepers with big predators or several tanks where smaller frozen blister packs disappear rather quickly.
Ideal for Larger Predatory Fish
Frozen mussels are particularly suitable for species such as puffers, Arowanas, Oscars, Red Tail Catfish, Ripsaw Catfish, lionfish, triggerfish, stingrays and eels.
They can also be offered to suitable carnivorous aquatic turtles as part of a varied diet.
Whole or Chopped
Larger fish can tackle an appropriately sized mussel whole, while the meat can easily be chopped into smaller bite-sized pieces for younger or smaller fish.
This makes the pack versatile across a surprisingly wide range of predatory species rather than restricting it to only the very largest aquarium fish.
Natural Shellfish Nutrition
Mussels provide naturally occurring marine protein and make a useful component of a varied carnivorous diet.
Typical analysis is 6.6% protein, 0.8% fat, 0.2% fibre and 0.7% ash.
Mussels should not be relied upon as the sole food. Alternate them with other suitable frozen foods and an appropriate quality staple diet to provide greater nutritional variety.
Feeding
Defrost this fish food the required amount before feeding. Offer whole mussels to suitably sized predators or chop them into smaller portions where necessary.
Feed only as much as will be consumed and remove significant uneaten food to prevent it affecting water quality.
Keep frozen until required and do not refreeze once fully defrosted.
Pack size: 340g.
