Frozen Discus Food is an excellent choice for aquarists looking to condition fish, improve colouration and encourage strong growth. The blend of beef heart, bloodworm, gammarus and vegetable matter provides a varied diet that is particularly beneficial for Discus, Angelfish and many larger tropical fish species.

We often recommend this food for fish that are being prepared for breeding or those that have become fussy with dried foods. The high palatability of frozen foods can help stimulate feeding responses and encourage shy fish to feed more confidently.

Feeding Guide: Feed your fish 1 to 2 times a day only as much as they will consume in a few minutes. Any uneaten food must be removed after the fish have finished feeding, before it has a chance to break down into harmful ammonia that could lead to water potential quality issues that would be detrimental to the wellbeing of your fish and other livestock.

Is this frozen discus food only suitable for discus?

No. Though it is formulated with discus in mind, it’s also suitable for other larger fish like Angelfish, Geophagus, Catfish, Severums and other South American Cichlids. It can also be offered as an occasional treat for many other species of tropical fish.

How often should I feed this food?

You can feed this food daily as part of a balanced diet. Many fish keepers alternate between various frozen foods and pellets to maintain variety in the diet of their fish.

Do I need to defrost this food before feeding?

Frozen fish food should be defrosted before use. a small amount of water from the aquarium can be used to defrost the food in a cup before feeding. This takes 5-10 minutes.
