Aquadip Frozen Beefheart 100g is a protein-rich frozen food particularly suited to discus, larger cichlids and other carnivorous or omnivorous aquarium fish. Supplied in a convenient portioned blister pack, it provides all the benefits of frozen beefheart without having to cut portions from a larger frozen slab.

Beefheart is a substantial, highly palatable food that can be particularly useful for fish with higher protein and energy requirements. Discus are perhaps its best-known customers, but it can also be offered to species such as Oscars, piranhas, knifefish and other larger cichlids as part of a suitably varied diet.

Beefheart has long been popular with discus keepers because of its high protein content and strong feeding response.

It can also provide useful dietary variety for carnivorous and omnivorous cichlids and other larger tropical fish. For species with less demanding protein requirements, beefheart is better offered in moderation alongside a varied and appropriately balanced diet.

The 100g blister pack is the big advantage here. Rather than wrestling with a frozen 500g slab while quietly questioning your career choices, individual portions can simply be removed as required.

Feeding Frozen Beefheart

Remove the required portion and allow it to thaw before feeding. Aquadip recommends thawing the desired amount in a little aquarium water and offering small portions several times per week. Any significant uneaten food should be removed to prevent unnecessary deterioration in water quality.

As beefheart is a rich food, portion size and frequency should be appropriate for the species, size and number of fish being maintained.
