Description

Exo Terra Ruscus Silk Plant Medium

The Exo Terra Ruscus Silk Plant Medium is a realistic artificial hanging plant designed to add natural-looking foliage, cover and enrichment to reptile and amphibian terrariums.

At approximately 45cm long, the Medium Ruscus provides a generous area of leafy cover without the maintenance requirements of a live plant. It can be positioned around backgrounds, branches and other terrarium décor to create a fuller, more natural-looking environment.

Exo Terra Ruscus Silk Plant for Natural Terrariums

The Exo Terra Ruscus Silk Plant is designed to replicate natural foliage while remaining easy to position and maintain.

Its trailing leaves are ideal for breaking up bare areas of a terrarium and can be combined with cork bark, branches and other décor to create a more natural appearance.

It can also be used alongside live planting to fill areas where growing conditions aren’t suitable for natural plants.

Creates Cover and Visual Barriers

Artificial plants can provide more than decoration.

The dense foliage creates visual barriers and sheltered resting areas, giving reptiles and amphibians additional opportunities to move out of sight.

This can be particularly useful for shy species and animals that naturally spend much of their time amongst vegetation.

Ideal for Arboreal Terrariums

The hanging design of the Exo Terra Ruscus Silk Plant Medium makes it particularly useful for creating foliage above ground level.

It can be arranged amongst branches and climbing structures or positioned against the terrarium background, helping make better use of the enclosure’s vertical space.

This makes it particularly suitable for arboreal and semi-arboreal reptiles and amphibians.

Ideal Where Live Plants Struggle

Not every area of a terrarium provides suitable conditions for natural plants.

Heat, low light levels, dry areas or the enclosure inhabitants themselves can make live planting difficult. Artificial Ruscus provides permanent foliage without needing watering, fertiliser or specialist plant lighting.

It is also useful in quarantine and other more sterile setups, where live plants may not be practical.

Easy to Clean and Maintain

The Exo Terra Ruscus Silk Plant Medium requires very little maintenance.

When the foliage becomes soiled, the plant can simply be removed and rinsed with water before being returned to the enclosure.

The sturdy, non-toxic artificial material provides an easy-to-maintain alternative to natural planting while retaining a soft, realistic appearance.

The Exo Terra Ruscus Silk Plant Medium is suitable for a wide range of terrarium inhabitants, including:

• Geckos
• Anoles

• Arboreal and semi-arboreal reptiles
