The Emerald Rasbora is a tiny fish that's perfect for nano communities. In the wild, this species is found only in Lake Inle in Myanmar. It is a shy shoaling species that should be kept in groups of 10 or more specimens for them to feel secure enough to be out in the open.
The aquarium should be well furnished with bog wood and plants. This species prefers their water to be more on the alkaline and cooler side. The flow should be gentle, so regular small water changes are recommended to keep the parameters under control.
It is worth noting that these fish are very small and should not be housed with anything other than nano fish as they will most likely be eaten.
Ideal tank mates will include other similar sized species, such as Galaxy Rasboras, Phoenix Rasboras and Cherry Shrimp.
Food can be offered in the form of micro crumb as well as certain frozen fish foods such as copepods.
