Clearseal Premier Vivarium 48 × 24 × 24 “

The Clearseal Premier Vivarium 48 × 24 × 24 is a large, spacious wooden reptile enclosure offering an excellent combination of floor area, depth and height for creating a more substantial reptile habitat.

Measuring approximately four feet long, two feet deep and two feet high, it provides considerably more usable space than a traditional 48 × 18 × 18″ vivarium. That additional room gives you greater flexibility when creating temperature zones and positioning hides, branches, décor, lighting and other essential equipment.

Constructed from strong 18mm board with durable ABS edging, the Clearseal Premier range also features upper and lower rear ventilation, cable access and 4mm sliding glass doors.

Best of all, it’s supplied ready built, so you can concentrate on creating the enclosure rather than assembling it first.

Generous 48 × 24 × 24″ Size

The dimensions of this model are:

1219mm long × 610mm deep × 610mm high

or approximately:

48″ × 24″ × 24″.

The combination of additional length, depth and height gives this model a particularly useful amount of internal space.

Compared with the 48 × 18 × 18″ model, the 24-inch depth provides 33% more floor area, while the extra six inches of height gives greater freedom when positioning décor, branches and environmental equipment.

For suitable reptile species, that extra room can make it easier to establish distinct warm and cool areas while still leaving plenty of usable space for the animal.

Strong 18mm Construction

Clearseal Premier Vivariums are manufactured from substantial 18mm board with ABS edging, producing a sturdy enclosure with a smart furniture-style finish.

The internal board joints are finished with clear silicone sealant, helping to protect the joints against moisture from normal condensation, humidity, cleaning and occasional spillages.

This doesn’t make the enclosure waterproof, however, and a wooden vivarium isn’t intended for permanently saturated environments.

Supplied Ready Built

The Clearseal Premier Vivarium is supplied fully assembled, so there’s no four-foot flat-pack enclosure waiting to test the strength of your relationship when you get it home.

Once securely positioned, you can begin installing the heating, lighting, thermostat, substrate, hides and furnishings appropriate for the animal being housed.

Upper & Lower Rear Ventilation

The rear of the vivarium incorporates upper and lower ventilation, helping to provide more even airflow through the enclosure.

Ventilation is only one part of managing the environment, so temperature and humidity should still be monitored and maintained according to the requirements of the individual species.

Cable Access for Heating & Lighting

Built-in cable access ports make it easier to route cables when installing lighting and heating equipment inside the enclosure.

Depending on the species and setup, this may include UVB lighting, heat sources, thermostatic controls and other environmental equipment.

Heating equipment should always be installed safely, controlled appropriately and used according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

4mm Sliding Glass Doors

The front of the vivarium features easy-access sliding doors manufactured from 4mm float glass. These provide a clear view into the enclosure while allowing straightforward access for feeding, cleaning and maintenance.

The doors also feature non-slip handles and are compatible with suitable locking devices, although a lock isn’t included.

For reptiles capable of pushing or manipulating sliding doors, we’d recommend fitting a suitable vivarium lock rather than relying on the weight of the glass alone.

More Room to Create a Naturalistic Setup

The additional depth of this model is particularly useful when you want to move beyond a fairly basic hide-at-each-end arrangement.

With 24 inches of depth and height, there’s greater freedom to use larger pieces of décor, branches, rocks, artificial or suitable live planting and multiple hiding areas while preserving useful open space.

The additional height can also provide more opportunity for climbing and elevated furnishings where appropriate for the species.

The important bit is where appropriate. More height doesn’t automatically make an enclosure arboreal, and the setup should always reflect the natural behaviour of the animal being kept.

Choosing the Right Vivarium

Although this is one of the larger Premier Vivariums, enclosure suitability shouldn’t be determined by dimensions alone.

Always consider the animal’s adult size, activity level, behaviour, temperature requirements, preferred use of horizontal or vertical space and current welfare guidance.

That’s far more useful than sticking a huge list of reptiles in the description and implying that a 48 × 24 × 24″ enclosure is automatically appropriate for every one of them.

Stackable Design

Compatible Clearseal Premier Vivariums can be stacked, allowing multiple enclosures to be arranged while making efficient use of floor space. Matching cabinets are also available for the range.

Because this particular reptile enclosure is substantially larger, any stacked installation needs to be stable and properly supported, with the rear ventilation left unobstructed.

Concrete Grey or Grey Bardolino
