Clearseal Premier Vivarium 36″ × 24″ × 24″

The Clearseal Premier Vivarium 36″ × 24″ × 24″ is a spacious wooden reptile enclosure offering extra depth and height within a practical three-foot footprint.

Constructed from substantial 18mm board with durable ABS edging, the Premier Vivarium combines strong construction with the practical features needed when creating a properly equipped reptile environment, including upper and lower rear ventilation, cable access and 4mm sliding glass doors.

At 24 inches deep and 24 inches high, this model provides considerably more usable internal space than a standard 36 × 18 × 18″ vivarium, giving you greater freedom when positioning hides, branches, décor, heating and lighting equipment.

It is also supplied ready built, so there’s no flat-pack assembly to tackle before setting up the enclosure.

Strong 18mm Construction

Clearseal Premier Vivariums are manufactured from 18mm board, creating a sturdy and substantial enclosure suitable for everyday reptile keeping.

The board is finished with durable ABS edging, while the internal board joints are sealed with clear silicone to help protect against moisture entering the joints through normal humidity, condensation, cleaning or occasional spillages.

The silicone treatment shouldn’t be confused with waterproofing, however. This remains a wooden vivarium and isn’t intended for permanently wet or saturated environments.

More Depth & Height

The major advantage of this particular Premier Vivarium is its 24-inch depth and height.

The overall dimensions are:

915mm long × 610mm deep × 610mm high

or approximately:

36″ × 24″ × 24″.

That extra space can make a surprisingly large difference when creating the enclosure. There’s more room for substantial hides and furnishings without consuming the entire floor area, while the additional height provides greater flexibility when arranging branches, décor, heating and lighting.

It can therefore be a particularly useful option when a 36-inch enclosure is appropriate but an 18-inch depth or height would feel restrictive.

Supplied Ready Built

The Premier Vivarium is supplied fully assembled, removing the need to construct a large flat-pack enclosure yourself.

Once you’ve positioned it securely, you can get on with the considerably more interesting job of creating the environment inside it.

Heating, lighting, substrate, hides and furnishings should always be chosen according to the individual reptile’s requirements.

Upper & Lower Rear Ventilation

Ventilation is positioned at both the upper and lower sections of the rear of the vivarium, helping to encourage more even airflow through the enclosure.

Good airflow is important, but it doesn’t remove the need to monitor conditions. Temperature and humidity should always be measured and maintained according to the needs of the species being kept.

Cable Access for Heating & Lighting

Dedicated cable access ports are incorporated into the enclosure, making it easier to install the electrical equipment required for your setup.

Depending on the species, this might include a heat source, thermostat, UVB lighting and other environmental equipment.

All heating should be installed safely and controlled appropriately, following the equipment manufacturer’s instructions.

4mm Sliding Glass Doors

The front features 4mm float-glass sliding doors, providing a clear view into the vivarium while giving straightforward access for feeding, cleaning and routine maintenance.

Non-slip handles make the doors easier to open and close, while the arrangement is compatible with suitable vivarium locking devices where additional security is required. The lock itself isn’t included.

Stackable Design

Premier Vivariums are designed so compatible enclosures can be stacked, which can be useful when housing several reptiles while making better use of available floor space. Matching cabinets are also available within the range.

Any stacked installation needs to be stable and secure, with the ventilation openings left unobstructed.

Choosing the Right Vivarium

J&K gives examples of animals for the 36 × 24 × 24″ model, including young Bearded Dragons, Rankin’s Dragons, Corn Snakes and the rather unhelpfully broad category of “Pythons”.

I wouldn’t put that list on Shirley’s page.

A vivarium should be chosen according to the animal’s species, adult size, activity level, behaviour and environmental requirements, alongside current husbandry and welfare guidance.

That’s much more useful than implying that a three-foot vivarium is suitable for anything bearing the word python.

Concrete Grey or Grey Bardolino

Shirley’s current listing offers this model in Concrete Grey or Grey Bardolino.

Both provide a contemporary furniture-style appearance, making the vivarium easier to incorporate into a living space than a purely functional enclosure.

Creating the Right Environment

The additional depth and height of this model gives you plenty of scope to create a more structured reptile environment.

Depending on the species, that could include multiple hides, climbing opportunities, branches, planting or artificial foliage, feeding and water areas and distinct warm and cool zones.

The vivarium itself is only the enclosure. Temperature, humidity, UVB provision, heating, substrate and furnishings should all be selected specifically for the animal being kept.
