Cleair Sargasso 2.0 Classic 470 Aquarium

The Cleair Sargasso 2.0 Classic 470 Aquarium combines a large 400-litre display aquarium with a 70-litre sump, premium equipment and a factory-built cabinet to create a complete 470-litre aquarium system.

Measuring 120cm wide × 50cm deep, with an impressive 90cm aquarium height, the Classic 470 provides considerably more vertical display space than many conventional 120cm aquariums. The complete aquarium and cabinet stands approximately 167.5cm tall, creating an imposing display without requiring the floor space of the larger Sargasso models.

Designed for tropical, coldwater and marine aquariums, the Sargasso 2.0 is supplied with the sump, pipework, circulation pump, digital titanium heater, LED lighting and light timers included as standard.

470L Cleair aquarium with Opti-white glass

The 470L aquarium uses high-clarity Opti-white glass to provide a clean, unobstructed view into the display.

Of the total 470-litre system volume, approximately 400 litres are contained within the main aquarium, with a further 70 litres in the sump below. This provides the benefits of sump filtration while keeping much of the equipment away from the main display.

At 120cm wide and 50cm deep, the Classic 470 remains relatively compact for an aquarium of this capacity, while its 90cm aquarium height gives it the tall, striking proportions characteristic of the Sargasso range.

Corner weir for improved aquascaping

Rather than positioning the weir centrally, the Sargasso uses a corner-mounted weir housing the drain and return pipework.

Positioning the weir in the right-hand corner leaves more of the aquarium uninterrupted, providing greater freedom when arranging rockwork, wood and other décor. The arrangement also helps promote circulation around the aquarium.

The weir is finished to complement the aquarium, helping the plumbing blend discreetly into the display.

Multi-chamber sump filtration

The Classic 470 incorporates a 70-litre multi-chamber sump, providing a dedicated area for filtration media and aquarium equipment beneath the main display.

The sump and associated pipework are supplied with the aquarium, removing the need to design a separate plumbing system from scratch.

The Sargasso 2.0 Classic 470 is supplied as a comprehensive aquarium system and includes:

The included LED lighting offers variable colour outputs and low running costs. Additional lighting will be required for reef aquariums and heavily planted aquascapes.

Factory-built cabinet – no MDF

Unlike many aquarium cabinets, the Sargasso cabinet is not supplied flat packed and does not use MDF in its structural construction.

The cabinet is factory assembled using a combination of solid wood, metal and treated laminated wood, providing a strong structure designed for use around an aquarium where occasional exposure to moisture is inevitable.

Depending on the chosen finish, the cabinet is clad to create the distinctive polished appearance of the Sargasso range, giving the Classic 470 the appearance of a piece of contemporary furniture rather than simply an aquarium stand.

The matching canopy and cabinet create a coordinated finish from top to bottom.

Sargasso is Suitable for freshwater and marine aquariums

The Sargasso Classic 470 can be used for tropical, coldwater or marine aquariums, giving you considerable freedom when choosing how to set up the system.

Its tall display and sump filtration also make it suitable as the foundation for reef and planted aquariums, although additional specialist lighting will be required for reef systems and heavily planted aquascapes.

Each Cleair Sargasso 2.0 Classic 470 Aquarium, Sump and Cabinet Set is available in black, white, alabaster, ocean grey or red. We have a wide range of sizes available either in store or to order! As standard these tanks are available with widths ranging from 50cm to 60cm and lengths ranging from 120cm to 200cm.
