Cladophora Moss Balls
Adding Moss balls to your aquarium provides a beautiful bright green colour focal point that also provides extra benefits in that they help keep nitrates down. If you have aquatic shrimps in your tank they will have a great time with this addition, they like to clean them and can be found under and on top of the moss ball.
You don't need to be an expert aquascaper to add moss balls to your aquarium, they are suitable for any fish tank and their slow growth rate makes them ideal for smaller shrimp tanks. The largest they should get is approximately 3". You don't need to have a special plant lighting system set up in fact too much light for moss balls may cause them to turn brown. If you can keep them out of direct sunlight or excessive light they will do better, you can always move the balls round to even the amount of light they receive. Only suitable for freshwater aquariums and ideally in tropical tanks at temperatures between 22-25 degrees celcius.
