The angelfish is a popular species of tropical fish and one of the longest kept fish in the hobby. They requires a larger aquarium with plenty of height, which is important when it comes to this fish as they get surprisingly tall, especially the Diamond Veiltail Angelfish. Substrate should be fine sand to protect the fish from injuring themselves and  there should be plenty of plants to make them feel secure

Angels are not nearly as aggressive as people like to make out. They are however often placed in the wrong kind of surroundings and in tanks that are simply not big enough and this can create the aggression in angels. Whilst they are cichlids, they actually prefer to be in large social groups, leaving the group only when they pair up and decide to spawn. In aquaria large enough, they can achieve this and everything remains peaceful as the other fish are able to stay away from the nest. In smaller aquariums, the angel will eventually become aggressive because other fish have no choice but to invade its space. This does not however count when it comes to smaller fish. Angels will try to eat some small species, but anything that's too big to fit in the angel's mouth is generally ignored.

Feed your Blue Common Angelfish pellets, flakes and fresh or frozen foods to boost protein levels.
