Decorative sand for aquariums to help you achieve a stunning natural look in your aquarium set up.
The benefits of sand over gravel include greater hygiene as the sand does not allow food particles and other detritus to collect in between grains, whilst gravel can become laden with it over time. All detritus simply sits on top so that you can see when it's starting to accumulate and remove it before it has a chance to release toxic ammonia, leading to water quality issues.. Many species such as corydoras, clown loaches, certain pufferfish and plecos require sand in their habitat to minimise damage to their barbels or undersides. Sand comes predominantly in natural colours, giving fish a more natural environment that feels more like home.
An attractive and subtle mix of gravel ranging from 1-2mm in size. This gravel is to be placed in the base of the aquarium as a bed to house plants and provides a base for rocks, stones and other aquatic ornaments.
Available in several sizes for any sized aquarium from nano to maxi.
This versatile gravel can be used in aquariums, terrariums or even planters.
We recommend you rinse the sand in a little cold water to remove any dust and particles before placing in the aquarium. If the sand does cloud the water, add filter wool to your filtration to extract it.
