The Repto Terra Clear Terrarium 30 × 20 × 15.5cm is a compact acrylic enclosure with a wider, lower design that’s particularly useful for smaller terrestrial invertebrates and other appropriately sized terrarium inhabitants.

Its 30 × 20cm footprint provides plenty of usable floor space for creating a miniature naturalistic environment with substrate, cork, hides, leaf litter and planting, while the clear acrylic construction keeps both the animal and its habitat easy to observe.

A ventilated mesh top, supplied humidity cover, secure locking mechanism and folding front door make the Terra Clear practical to maintain as well as attractive to display.

A Wider, Lower Terrarium

Unlike the taller Terra Clear models, this version measures just 15.5cm high but provides a generous 30 × 20cm footprint.

That makes it particularly interesting for appropriately sized animals that spend most of their time on or close to the ground, rather than species requiring significant vertical climbing space.

Depending on their individual requirements, this style of enclosure can work well for certain spiders, beetles and other small terrestrial invertebrates.

Always check the adult size, behaviour and environmental requirements of the particular species before choosing an enclosure.

Create a Miniature Naturalistic Habitat

The larger floor area gives you plenty of scope to turn what could simply be an acrylic box into a genuinely attractive little habitat.

Depending on the invertebrate, you can use suitable substrate, cork bark, leaf litter, moss, small hides and live or artificial plants to create different textures, sheltered areas and places to explore.

And because the enclosure is clear, you can actually enjoy the miniature landscape you’ve created rather than hiding most of it behind an opaque frame.

Clear Acrylic Construction

The clear acrylic panels provide excellent visibility throughout the enclosure, making it easy to observe both the inhabitant and its environment.

That’s especially useful with smaller invertebrates, where interesting behaviour can otherwise be remarkably easy to miss.

Acrylic also keeps the enclosure relatively lightweight and easy to reposition when empty.

Ventilated Mesh Top

A mesh panel in the top provides ventilation and can also allow suitable lighting to be positioned above the enclosure where required.

The amount of ventilation needed varies considerably between species, so conditions inside the enclosure should always be monitored rather than assuming that one setup will suit every inhabitant.

Keep the terrarium away from direct sunlight, as a small clear enclosure can become dangerously warm surprisingly quickly.

Adjustable Humidity Retention

The Terra Clear is supplied with an acrylic plate that can cover the mesh panel, reducing airflow through the top when greater humidity retention is required.

This provides a simple way to adjust the balance between ventilation and moisture retention to better suit the inhabitant.

The cover isn’t a substitute for monitoring conditions, however. Humidity and ventilation should always be managed according to the needs of the individual species.

Easy Front Access

A folding front door provides convenient access for feeding, misting and routine maintenance without having to remove the entire top of the enclosure.

This is particularly useful once you’ve arranged décor inside and would rather not dismantle your miniature masterpiece every time somebody needs feeding.

The enclosure also incorporates a locking mechanism, helping to keep its inhabitant securely inside.
