Cleair Sargasso 2.0 Classic 590L Aquarium

The Cleair Sargasso 2.0 Classic 590L Aquarium combines an impressive 150cm-wide display with premium equipment, sump filtration and a factory-built matching cabinet, creating a complete 590-litre aquarium system suitable for tropical, coldwater and marine setups.

The main aquarium provides approximately 500 litres of display volume, supported by a 90-litre multi-chamber sump housed neatly within the cabinet. With a footprint of 150cm wide × 50cm deep and an impressive 90cm aquarium height, the Classic 590 provides plenty of swimming length while retaining the relatively slim 50cm depth of the Sargasso Classic range.

The complete system stands approximately 167.5cm high and is supplied with the circulation pump, digital titanium heater, LED lighting, light timers, plumbing and other essential equipment included as standard.

590L aquarium and cabinet with Opti-white glass

The 590L aquarium uses high-clarity Opti-white glass for a crisp, unobstructed view of the display.

Its 150cm × 50cm footprint provides considerably more horizontal swimming room than the smaller Classic 470 while retaining the same relatively shallow front-to-back dimension. Combined with its 90cm aquarium height, this creates a striking panoramic display without requiring the 60cm depth of the Sargasso Deep models.

The rear of the aquarium features a black background, providing a smart, clean backdrop that helps livestock, plants and aquascaping stand out while concealing distractions behind the aquarium.

Classic 590 or Deep 580?

Although their overall capacities are very similar, the Sargasso Classic 590 and Deep 580 have distinctly different proportions.

The Classic 590 measures 150cm wide × 50cm deep, making it the better format for anyone wanting a longer display and greater horizontal swimming space without the aquarium projecting as far into the room.

The Deep 580 uses a shorter but deeper footprint, providing additional front-to-back aquascaping space instead.

Neither format is inherently better — the choice comes down to the available space and the type of display you want to create.

Corner weir for more usable display space

The drain and return pipework are housed within a discreet right-hand corner weir, rather than occupying the centre of the aquarium.

This leaves more of the display uninterrupted and provides greater freedom when positioning rockwork, wood, plants and other décor. The arrangement also helps encourage effective circulation throughout the aquarium.

90-litre multi-chamber sump

A generous 90-litre multi-chamber sump provides dedicated space beneath the aquarium for filtration media and equipment.

The sump and pipework are included as standard, giving you the advantages of sump filtration without having to design and source a separate plumbing system.

Of the complete 590-litre system volume, approximately 500 litres are within the main display aquarium and 90 litres within the sump.

The socket extension is conveniently mounted inside the cabinet, providing a tidy central location for powering the aquarium equipment and helping keep plugs and cables organised.

The supplied LED lighting provides variable colour outputs with low running costs. Additional specialist lighting will be required for reef aquariums and heavily planted aquascapes.

Factory-built Cleair cabinet – no MDF

The Sargasso cabinet is supplied fully factory assembled rather than flat packed, with no MDF used in its structural construction.

A combination of solid wood, metal and treated laminated wood creates a strong cabinet designed for use around an aquarium, where resistance to occasional moisture is particularly important.

The exterior is finished to complement the aquarium canopy, giving the complete system the appearance of a contemporary piece of furniture.

The Sargasso 2.0 Classic 590 is available in:

Each finish coordinates the cabinet and aquarium canopy for a clean, integrated appearance.

Suitable for freshwater and marine aquariums

The Classic 590 can be configured for coldwater, tropical or marine fish, while its sump filtration also provides an excellent foundation for reef and planted displays.

The long 150cm footprint is particularly useful where horizontal swimming space is desirable, while the 90cm-high display creates plenty of vertical room for ambitious aquascaping.

Each Cleair Sargasso 2.0 Classic 590L Aquarium, Sump and Cabinet Set is available in black, white or red. We have a wide range of sizes available either in store or to order! As standard these tanks are available with widths ranging from 50cm to 60cm and lengths ranging from 120cm to 200cm. We also have “special” sizes available as well as custom sizes, just get in touch if you’d like to know more!

Standard pallet deliveries are dropped on the driveway by the courier. If this isn’t suitable, we do offer our own in house delivery service and even set up. Contact us to find out more!
