Description

SuperFish Scaper 70L Rimless Aquarium

The SuperFish Scaper 70L Rimless Aquarium is a complete aquascaping kit built around a shallow, open-top design. At 60 × 40 × 28cm, its extra front-to-back depth and lower height give you plenty of room to create layered planted layouts without the aquarium feeling tall or enclosed.

Made from 6mm Crystal Clear glass, the Scaper 70 has no bulky hood or top frame to distract from the aquascape. It is supplied with an EVA foam base mat and a reversible black/white background, giving you a clean starting point for your layout.

SuperFish Scaper 70 Lighting

A planted aquarium needs decent lighting, and this is one of the strongest features of the Scaper 70. The supplied Scaper LED 74 produces a PAR value of 269, making it suitable for demanding aquarium plants as well as easier species.

The current manufacturer specification lists the Scaper LED 74 at 28W, with 3,240 lumens, a colour temperature of 7,300K and CRI of 98. It sits neatly above the open aquarium on adjustable supports, keeping the rimless appearance uncluttered.

Space-Saving Hang-On Filter

Filtration is provided by a SuperFish Hang-On Filter 100, rated at 6W. Because the main body of the filter sits outside the aquarium, it leaves more space inside for plants, hardscape and livestock while avoiding a bulky internal filter in your carefully designed aquascape.

The filter uses replaceable cartridges, making routine maintenance straightforward.

Designed for Aquascaping

The 60 × 40cm footprint is particularly useful when building an aquascape. The generous 40cm depth gives you room to position rocks, wood and plants at different distances from the front glass, helping create a much greater sense of depth.

At just 28cm high, light also has less water to penetrate before reaching carpeting and foreground plants. Combined with the powerful Scaper LED, this makes the aquarium particularly well suited to planted layouts.

The kit also includes FloraGrow plant fertiliser and FloraGrow Carbo, giving you the basics to get a new planted aquarium started.
