The Foxface is a type of Rabbitfish, which are known for being great algae eaters. This species is peaceful and can be considered reef safe as it is only known to nip at LPS and soft corals when it isn’t being fed enough. Its primary diet should be algae based with additional fresh or frozen foods to supplement it, so it is important that it is added only to larger, established aquariums where there’s plenty of rock for the fish to browse.

It is peaceful in temperament, but may not be so tolerant of others of its own kind. It is worth noting that like all Rabbitfish, this species carries a venom in its dorsal spines. Whilst most will swim away and hide when hands are in the aquarium, keepers should still exercise caution.
