biOrb TUBE MCR LED Aquarium Kit

The biOrb TUBE MCR LED Aquarium Kit combines a distinctive cylindrical design with 360° viewing, remote-controlled multi-colour lighting and biOrb’s integrated filtration system. Available in 15, 30 and 35-litre sizes, the TUBE makes an unusual centrepiece for rooms where the aquarium can be viewed from several different directions.

Unlike a conventional rectangular aquarium, there are no corners interrupting the view. The clear acrylic body allows you to see directly through and around the aquarium, making plants, ornaments and carefully arranged décor visible from virtually every angle.

biOrb TUBE MCR LED Aquarium Kit

The cylindrical shape is the defining feature of the biOrb TUBE MCR LED Aquarium Kit. Instead of designing the aquascape around a conventional front and back, decorations can be arranged around the central bubble tube to create a display intended to be enjoyed from all sides.

This makes the TUBE particularly effective on a suitable freestanding unit, in an open-plan living space or anywhere that more than one side of the aquarium remains visible.

MCR Multi-Colour LED Lighting

Each TUBE MCR is equipped with biOrb’s Multi-Colour Remote lighting system, allowing the appearance of the aquarium to be changed using the supplied remote control.

There are 16 preset colour options, along with adjustable brightness, giving you everything from clean everyday illumination to more atmospheric evening lighting.

Automatic lighting programmes can also simulate changes through the day, transitioning between daylight and moonlight rather than simply switching the aquarium abruptly on and off.

360° Aquarium Viewing

One of the TUBE’s greatest advantages is its uninterrupted viewing area.

The cylindrical acrylic body eliminates the vertical corners and joins normally associated with rectangular aquariums, allowing fish and decorations to be seen clearly as you move around the tank.

The filtration system is largely concealed within the aquarium base, while the central bubble tube becomes part of the display rather than requiring a bulky conventional internal filter attached to one side.

biOrb Multi-Stage Filtration

The TUBE uses biOrb’s established filtration system, combining biological, mechanical and chemical filtration with continuous aeration.

Water is drawn through the ceramic media covering the base of the aquarium. Its porous structure provides a large surface area for beneficial bacteria, helping establish the biological filtration required for a healthy aquarium.

Waste is carried towards the filter cartridge at the base, where mechanical media traps debris while chemical filtration helps remove dissolved pollutants.

Filtered water is then carried upwards through the central bubble tube, providing continuous circulation and oxygenation.

Lightweight Acrylic Construction

The aquarium body is manufactured from clear acrylic rather than conventional glass.

Acrylic allows the seamless cylindrical shape of the TUBE while also keeping the aquarium relatively lightweight. Its clarity works particularly well with the 360° design because there are no conventional glass corners or silicone joints obscuring the view.

As acrylic is softer than glass, suitable acrylic-safe cleaning equipment should always be used to avoid scratching the surface.

Complete Aquarium Kit

The TUBE is supplied with the essential equipment required to establish the aquarium, so there is no need to purchase a separate filter, air pump or lighting system.

The kit includes the acrylic aquarium, MCR lighting unit and remote control, air pump, transformer, air stone, filter cartridge and ceramic biological media.

Decoration can then be chosen separately from the extensive biOrb range or created using other suitable aquarium-safe ornaments and plants.

Three Sizes Available

The TUBE 15 is the most compact option at 15 litres, with a diameter of approximately 32.8cm and height of 31.5cm. Its low profile makes it particularly effective as a small decorative display.

The TUBE 30 retains approximately the same 32.8cm diameter but increases the height to around 51.3cm. The taller proportions provide a dramatic vertical display without increasing the aquarium’s footprint.

The TUBE 35 takes a different approach, increasing the diameter to approximately 36.9cm while keeping the aquarium around 36.4cm high. Its broader proportions provide more horizontal swimming and decorating space than the narrower TUBE 30.

Choosing Livestock for a biOrb TUBE

Although visually striking, the TUBE remains a relatively small aquarium, particularly in the 15-litre version. Livestock should therefore be selected according to the actual water volume and swimming space rather than simply the visual size of the aquarium.

The design can work particularly well for carefully chosen small freshwater livestock and planted displays. Always consider the adult size, social requirements and activity level of any species before adding it to the aquarium.
