The sera snail collect is excellently suited for reducing fast multiplying pest snails in aquariums.

Snails are lured into the trap by some bait. Their way back is blocked by pins. The undesired catching of fish is prevented by pins in the entry of the trap.

Almost every fish keeper has at least once experienced a Bladder Snail or Malaysian Trumped Snail infestation in their aquarium. These pesky molluscs can be very difficult to bring under control as they breed at an alarming speed and get into all kinds of nooks and crannies. So the inevitable pest control comes into the picture and sometimes it’s difficult to decide which method is best.

Sera Snail Collect is a great alternative solution to buying livestock to handle a snail infestation as the solutions often come with their own problems. Whilst assassin snails are a popular option for population control, you will need to have a fair number of them in larger tanks or they simply won’t keep up with the breeding of the pest snails. Another recommended method is to use Yoyo and Clown Loaches, which are not appropriate fish for smaller or even medium sized aquariums on account of the size they grow to. Snail killing treatments can be an effective method, but they are a chemical that’s being added to the water and will kill invertebrates indiscriminately, including shrimp, ornamental snail and crabs. The trap method allows the snails to be manually removed without the time consuming affair of trying to find them.
