First Bite Reef Feast Frozen Marine Food 250g is a premium frozen food developed specifically for reef aquariums. Rather than relying on a single frozen ingredient, Reef Feast combines a varied mixture of natural marine foods to provide fish and other reef inhabitants with a broad and interesting feeding experience.

The recipe includes whole Calanus, krill, mysis shrimp, copepods and raw seaweed, together with hydrolysed proteins, an algae-based binder and live probiotic bacteria. This mixture of differently sized ingredients makes Reef Feast particularly useful in aquariums containing a variety of marine species.

Reef Feast Frozen Marine Food

Reef Feast is produced using a two-stage process. Natural seafood ingredients are first wet-milled with water-soluble hydrolysed proteins and a natural algae binder. Whole Calanus, krill, mysis shrimp, copepods, raw seaweed and live probiotic bacteria are then added to the mixture.

The result is a frozen food containing both finely distributed ingredients and recognisable whole foods, allowing different inhabitants of the aquarium to feed from the same portion.

Reef Feast has been developed specifically for marine aquariums and is particularly useful for mixed reef systems.

The combination of zooplankton, crustaceans, seafood ingredients and seaweed provides different particle sizes and textures rather than every mouthful being identical.

It can be offered to a wide range of reef inhabitants including marine fish and suitable invertebrates.

Contains Live Probiotic Bacteria

One of the features that separates Reef Feast from conventional frozen marine foods is the inclusion of live probiotic bacteria.

First Bite states that Reef Feast is certified probiotic and contains 10 million cells of live bacteria per gram of food.

Feed as Pieces or Allow Fish to Graze

Reef Feast can be fed directly from frozen.

Break the slab into smaller pieces for conventional feeding, or offer a larger piece for suitable fish to graze from gradually. First Bite also produces a feeding clip specifically designed to hold larger pieces of Reef Feast in the aquarium.

This flexibility makes the 250g slab useful in both smaller reef aquariums and larger systems containing numerous fish.

How to Feed Reef Feast

Break off an appropriate amount and introduce it directly to the aquarium. Smaller pieces can be used for normal feeding, while larger portions can be offered to grazing fish.

Feed an amount appropriate for the number and size of animals in the aquarium and avoid leaving excessive uneaten food in the system.

As with other aquarium foods, Reef Feast is best incorporated into a varied feeding routine appropriate to the livestock being kept.
