Stendker GoodHeart Discus Food Regular 100g is the classic beefheart-based frozen food developed specifically for discus. Now known by Stendker as Good Heart Classic, this long-established recipe provides a complete food designed to support healthy growth, body condition and everyday nutrition.

The GoodHeart recipe has been developed and refined through decades of discus breeding. Stendker states that its food has been used as a complete feed since 1965, making this the original formulation within today’s Classic, Colour and Spirulina GoodHeart range.

Supplied as a convenient 100g portioned blister pack, it is particularly practical for smaller groups of discus or fishkeepers who don’t require the larger 500g flat pack.

Stendker GoodHeart Classic

The original Stendker GoodHeart formulation is based predominantly on beefheart and contains 91% meat and animal by-products, together with oils and fats, fish and fish by-products, cereals, vegetables, vegetable by-products and minerals.

Its analytical composition includes 13.2% crude protein, 1.5% crude oils and fats, less than 0.5% crude fibre and 83.7% moisture.

Developed Specifically for Discus

GoodHeart isn’t simply frozen beefheart. It is a formulated complete discus food developed around the nutritional requirements of the fish raised within Stendker’s breeding operation.

The Classic recipe provides the foundation of the GoodHeart range without the additional colour-enhancing ingredient found in GoodHeart Colour or the Spirulina algae incorporated into the digestion-focused Spirulina variety.

This makes Classic an excellent everyday choice for discus keepers looking for the original Stendker formulation.

Firm Consistency for Cleaner Feeding

Particular attention has been paid to the binding of GoodHeart. Stendker developed the beefheart food to remain together while the fish are feeding rather than quickly disintegrating into fine particles.

This allows more of the food to be consumed by the fish while reducing unnecessary food particles entering the aquarium and filtration system.

Convenient 100g Blister Pack

The 100g blister pack provides easy-to-measure individual portions, making everyday feeding straightforward without needing to cut pieces from a larger frozen slab.

Stendker currently produces Good Heart Classic in both this practical 100g blister and an economical 500g frozen bar, giving fishkeepers the option to choose a pack size appropriate for the number of discus they maintain.

Feeding Stendker GoodHeart

Completely defrost the required portion in the refrigerator before feeding. Stendker advises against thawing GoodHeart at room temperature because this can affect its firm consistency, while rinsing under running water can wash important minerals from the food.

For a group of ten discus, Stendker recommends approximately 5–7.5g per meal, with up to three GoodHeart meals per day. Adjust the amount according to the size and number of fish being maintained.
