For BioSmart 7000 to 16000. The heart of a filter is its filter sponges: Blue filter sponges have coarse filtering properties, because they develop their full function even at a high water flow rate. This means that larger dirt particles get caught directly in the sponge during the flow and are thus removed from the pond water ready to be cleaned out of the sponge. But filter sponges do not just carry out classic filtration, they also provide plenty of living space for the smallest bacteria. This small biological oasis ensures that toxins that have formed in the pond are converted: Toxic substances are converted into harmless but algae-stimulating substances (nitrification). Together with the red filter sponges, they demonstrate a clean filter performance.

Ideal for mechanical filtration of food and other detritus, as well as biological filtration. For best performance, squeeze filter sponges in water taken from the pond on a regular basis to prevent them from getting clogged.
