Description

Exo Terra Abutilon Silk Plant Medium

The Exo Terra Abutilon Silk Plant Medium is a realistic artificial terrarium plant designed to add natural-looking foliage, cover and sheltered areas to reptile and amphibian enclosures.

At approximately 56cm long, its hanging design is ideal for decorating terrarium backgrounds, branches and climbing structures. It provides the appearance and practical benefits of natural foliage without requiring watering, specialist lighting or suitable growing conditions.

Exo Terra Abutilon Silk Plant for Natural Terrariums

The Exo Terra Abutilon Silk Plant provides an easy way to introduce additional greenery into a reptile or amphibian enclosure.

Its realistic silk-style foliage helps soften bare backgrounds and can be combined with cork bark, branches, vines and other décor to create a more natural-looking environment.

It can also be mixed with live planting to add foliage in areas where natural plants may struggle to grow.

Creates Cover and Hiding Areas

Artificial plants aren’t purely decorative.

The foliage helps create visual barriers and sheltered areas, allowing reptiles and amphibians to retreat from view when they choose.

This can be particularly useful for shy species and animals that naturally spend much of their time amongst vegetation.

Ideal for Arboreal Terrariums

The hanging design of the Exo Terra Abutilon Silk Plant Medium makes it particularly useful for adding foliage above ground level.

It can be arranged around branches, climbing vines and terrarium backgrounds, helping make better use of the enclosure’s vertical space.

This makes it particularly suitable for arboreal and semi-arboreal reptiles and amphibians.

Useful Where Live Plants Struggle

Not every part of a terrarium provides suitable growing conditions for natural plants.

Heat, dry areas, low light levels or the inhabitants themselves can make live planting difficult. The Exo Terra Abutilon Silk Plant provides permanent greenery without needing watering, fertiliser or specialist plant lighting.

It can also be useful in quarantine or other more practical setups where live planting isn’t appropriate.

Easy to Clean and Maintain

One of the main advantages of artificial terrarium plants is their simplicity.

The Abutilon can be removed from the enclosure for cleaning whenever necessary, without the ongoing maintenance associated with live plants.

Its silk-style foliage also gives it a softer and more natural appearance than many rigid plastic terrarium decorations.

Suitable For

The Exo Terra Abutilon Silk Plant Medium can be used in enclosures for many reptiles and amphibians, including:

• Geckos
• Anoles
• Small lizards
• Tree frogs
• Other amphibians
• Arboreal and semi-arboreal reptiles
• Suitable invertebrates

It can be used alone or combined with other artificial and natural plants to create denser areas of foliage.
