The Rock Hopper Hawkfish is a wonderful little fish that adds a burst of life to the aquarium. They only grow to around 12cm in size, but they’re a very active, playful and inquisitive species. They enjoy darting in and out of the rock work and will spend a lot of time out in the open, giving the aquarist plenty of entertainment.

They’re a hardy fish that can adapt to many conditions and a variety of set ups, which makes them an ideal beginner fish for people new to the marine side of the hobby. They are technically reef safe as they don’t eat corals, but they may go after smaller shrimp and other invertebrates.
