Potassium is an important component of coral skeletal structures. Lack of potassium may cause problems with colour and coral tissue loss.

Contains pigments which provides purple and blue colours of some polyps.

It is important for regulation of neurological functions and is also consumed by aquarium inhabitants.

Potassium concentration of natural seawater is approximately 400ppm. Potassium levels of aquarium should be kept close to this value.
