Pink Scooter Blenny, Synchiropus stellatus is pink and cream with a striped or spotted pattern-males are usually more colourful and have a large sail-like dorsal fin that is bright orange at the base. It is native to the southwest Pacific Ocean from southern Japan to the Marquesas Islands. Grows to approximately 8 cm long.
When keeping this fish, there should be plenty of rock work and nooks and crannies for the fish to browse and exhibit its natural behaviour. A jump guard is also strongly advised as this fish is known for jumping. This fish is largely carnivorous and will readily hunt amphipods, copepods, brine shrimp and mysis. Their diet should however be supplemented with additional greens to keep these fish in top condition. This fish is completely reef safe as it doesn't nip at corals and is too small to eat the clean up crew.
This fish can be kept singly, as a group or with other blennies, but the size of the aquarium and visual barriers should be considered if more than one blenny is added to the aquarium.
